Not So Clear Conscience

What can we learn about the media from their coverage of certain events over the past few weeks? In this week’s boralogue, John compares media reporting from the New Zealand mosque shootings and the Sri Lankan church bombings. Coverage depends on narrative – if the story supports the narrative, they run with it. If it doesn’t, they ignore it. That is your progressive news media in the 21st century.

Gender reassignment procedures are on the rise in Canada and some children are being taken away from protesting parents. Doctors are being forced to choose between their jobs and their consciences. Emilie Kao (, Director of the Devos Center for Religion and Civil Society at the Heritage Foundation, joins us to discuss.

Trump Derangement Syndrome has reached a fever pitch in several areas of society including the media. We welcome author Blake Harris ( to the show to give us a liberal’s point of view. He shows how those who support President Trump face repercussions – even if they are democrats, and he gives examples of how journalistic standards have fallen by the wayside.

Public schools need reforming but is there a need for reform in Christian schools as well? Ray Moore, Jr. (, Founder and Board President at Exodus Mandate, returns after many years away to discuss the need for reform, the surprising lack of support from pastors, and a hope for an eventual stop to the indoctrination of children.

John and Steve finish out the program this week discussing 2020 election theories and how the investigation battle between the Republicans and the Democrats is in full swing. Who will come out the winner remains to be seen but for one party, the smear campaign may boomerang back on them.

John’s quote of the week:
There is a doctrinal erosion going on across the board in religious institutions. It keeps going on generation after generation. Christians always arrive thinking they are going to fight a war, not realizing they are simply engaged in a losing mop-up operation for a war that they lost thirty years ago when they didn’t fight it.

In this week’s Extras segment, we play a couple of interviews from August 2012, one concerning the enforcement of blasphemy laws, the other a story about a Colorado business being forced to comply with government standards against their religious beliefs. The battle for freedom of speech and freedom of religion are ones we must win.
