In the constant battle for free speech between the left and the right in this country, very few people tackle the argument from the middle of the field. Joining us today is, as John calls him, the man in the middle of the row boat trying to stop it from toppling over. That man is Matt Welch (reason.com), Libertarian and Editor at Large at Reason Magazine. He looks at the state of free speech today and the difference between the cultural value and the legal value of free speech in society. He also covers the history of journalism and how media is now coming out against free speech in some areas. Will the war on our constitutional freedoms continue to get uglier?

Once a month, John is a guest on local radio station KYMS here in the Inland Northwest with host Lee Lancaster. This month, John and Lee discuss how the mainstream media insists on reporting that America is severely divided, despite the fact that most people don't feel that way. They also cover the shooting in Boulder, Colorado and the false assumption narratives perpetuated by the media and politicians before any of the facts came out. In order to fight misinformation and conspiracy theories, Microsoft has teamed with other companies to trace online content back to its original author in what some people are calling a huge setback in data privacy. Back with us is Russ White (www.rule11.tech), nationwide expert in network architecture, who details the plans of this new cabal. Even if these companies have good intentions, electronic chips can be hacked and backdoor programs can be installed that would completely undermine the original intent of their plan.

We have three parts to today's show. John opens up with a brief analysis of an upcoming PBS documentary that purposefully misrepresents former President Trump's words when it came to Israel and the West Bank. They deceptively edited press conference footage to make it seem like Trump said things he really didn't say. Will they correct it before it is scheduled to air this weekend or will they broadcast it anyway?

We then transition to two separate interviews focusing on the collision of established First Amendment rights and those that have been newly created. First up is Kate Anderson (adflegal.org), Senior Counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, who gives us an update on the seemingly never-ending legal battles of Colorado cake baker Jack Phillips.

We wrap up the show with Lathan Watts (firstliberty.org), Director of Public Affairs at First Liberty Institute. He looks at the issue of government officials treating churches differently and unfairly when it comes to the pandemic and the lockdowns. The Constitution doesn't take a break just because there's an emergency.

Some states have business laws friendly to owners and others have laws that clamp down on business progress. She examines the advantages of having a decentralized system of business so that a company can communicate directly with its consumers and bypass the potential censorship of Big Tech. Many businesses are flocking to states that will afford them this freedom.

Hospitals are now required to enforce price transparency, but many are still fighting against it. Dr. Steven Goldstein (www.houstonhealthcareinitiative.org), Founder of the Houston Healthcare Initiative, joins us to look at the difference between a cost-plus system, which has always been in place, and an up-font one-price system, which would incentivize hospital staff to be more efficient. Many hospitals, however, are stubbornly sticking with cost-plus.

John finishes up the program this week analyzing a couple of news stories showing how totalitarianism is rearing its ugly head on both coasts. Marxism is quickly infiltrating Western society and soon anyone who doesn't agree with the politically correct narrative of the day, will be at best censored or at worst be jailed.
