abortion cases

John opens the show this week with a brief comment on how our Constitution is working exactly as it was meant to work. And in doing so, it is stymieing the plans of the Left, which is why you see the constant attacks on the Constitution.

We then transition to our first topic: abortion. Abortion is in the spotlight due to the recent Dobbs decision, but how is the Church dealing with it? We welcome Dr. David J. Ayers (faithandfreedom.com), Fellow for Marriage and Family at the Institute for Faith and Freedom. He looks at how the church has taught about abortion historically and how they deal with women who suffer from the aftereffects of it. He relays his own experiences in how the Church has handled the issue of abortion.

When we discuss the topic of totalitarianism, both in the past and happening now, it's important to take a step back and study what exactly totalitarianism is. Helping us do that this week is literature and history teacher Walker Larson (thehazelnut.substack.com). He describes the different stages of totalitarianism, based on what we've seen in history, and shows some pretty shocking similarities to society today. If you want to understand how raging at the Constitution can lead to tyranny, this is the interview to listen to.

Finally, we look at a blatant power grab on the globalist stage. The World Health Organization has been horrible when it comes to accurate medical information, but they are maneuvering for more power. Rounding out the show this week is Alex Newman (thenewamerican.com), CEO of Liberty Sentinel Media and Senior Editor at The New American magazine. He describes how the United Nations is attempting to give the WHO powers to declare pandemic emergencies in any country regardless of whether that country gives consent or not.

The topic of abortion has been thrust back into the spotlight after the recent Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade. But the topic of abortion in the Church has always been a difficult one. Joining us today to chat about it is Dr. David J. Ayers (faithandfreedom.com), Fellow for Marriage and Family at the Institute for Faith and Freedom. He and John tackle the question of how the church should teach about abortion. More women than you think in the church have had an abortion and most of them are afraid to mention it. Dr. Ayers relays his experience compassionately discussing the issue in the classroom and at church.

Happy Independence Day everyone! We have a special abbreviated podcast today where we chat with Lea Patterson (firstliberty.org), Counsel with First Liberty Institute. She looks at one of the many recent landmark cases decided by the Supreme Court; namely the religious liberty case in Maine. She describes the history in Maine that led up to First Liberty bringing the case and, now that they are victorious, she examines ways that the state would try to get around the ruling.

The Supreme Court heard arguments this week in a case involving a Mississippi ban on all abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy. There is more to the abortion debate than the usual topics. Opening the show this week, John highlights the shifting definition of an unborn baby over the years by the pro-abortion crowd. It went from a clump of cells to maybe alive to 'OK, it's a human.' But they also say that while it may be a human, it's still not a person. This gives them the so-called moral justification to perform abortions. It's what the Nazis did – they depersonalized Jews so that they could justify places like Auschwitz.

There is a lot going on around the world so we shift our focus to global geopolitics. Back with us this week is Ukraine-based defense expert Reuben Johnson. He and John discuss military aircraft sales in Dubai involving the UAE and Russia, which could indicate Russia's shift away from talks with Iran. Also, Russia is building up their military on the border with Ukraine and the migrant situation at the Belarus-Poland border is heating up. Plus, Covid misinformation is not unique to the U.S. – he shows how other countries are dealing with it.

Finally this week, we dive back into the school boards versus parents issue with Nicole Neily (defendinged.org), Founder and President of Parents Defending Education. She examines how shameless school boards and teachers' unions have been in the education arena and how it has galvanized parents to stand up for their rights. She offers ways that parents can fight back against educrat tyranny and protect their children.

The Supreme Court will hear arguments today in Dobbs v Jackson Women's Health Organization, a case involving a Mississippi ban on all abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy. The decision in this case is expected much later in the Court's term. John flies solo on today's podcast, diving into the abortion debate, looking at the worldview implications. He highlights the shifting definition by the pro-abortion crowd of the baby in the womb. Human, alive, clump of cells? Maybe the fetus is a human, they state, but it's not a person. Once that definition is set, you've depersonalized the human and can then justify actions toward them. John also looks at how judicial precedence is being corrupted from the original intent of the law to conjure rights that aren't in the Constitution and deny ones that are.
