Afghanistan

We started the week out with Ukraine-based defense expert Reuben Johnson and he's back with us today to finish out the week and to look at a number of issues, including the consequences of America's behavior in the disastrous pullout from Afghanistan. Confidence in the U.S. among NATO nations, as well as Ukraine, is plummeting – should a neighbor country act aggressively, it's no longer certain that the U.S. would intervene to help out. He also covers Russia's and China's potential future geopolitical plans, the pandemic moving forward, and even a little on the California governor recall election.

Our exit non-strategy from Afghanistan was a complete debacle and the political fallout is just beginning.  But there are geopolitical consequences as well.  On today's podcast, John and Producer Steve discuss how other world leaders are taking notice of our weak leadership and wondering how best to take advantage of it.  China is surrounding Taiwan with warships, essentially daring us to defend the island country.  Iran will no doubt be interested in purchasing from the Taliban all the weapons and vehicles the U.S. military left behind.  And even now, some in the leftist media are calling out the Biden administration for its terrible handling of this.  There's a lot more happening than just "Biden is bad" or "look at the people clinging to the plane."
