You are going to confront two things during your life: reality and God. Those confrontations are assured, whether we like it or not, so with that in mind, it's important to know what life is all about. John flies solo today, taking a look at those two confrontations amid the avalanche of lies and blizzard of ignorance we see in the West today. Caught up in the blizzard and the avalanche are many young people who are being taught to embrace a narrative or a truth claim, regardless of whether it's actually true or not. John illustrates how Marxist thought is completely antithetical to Christmas: one has to be true while the other has to be false. John reads from the Gospel of John showing how Christmas definitely wins that battle.
We certainly see a lot of examples of how this country is going in the wrong direction, but perhaps the most important trend isn't getting much attention. Joining us today for a sobering conversation is Steve Cable (probe.org), Senior Vice President of Probe Ministries. His studies show that in the last decade the number of Christians who successfully answered doctrinal questions about Christianity fell from 50% to just 25%. In other words, only a quarter of people who claim to be born again Christian answered correctly all 4 questions about what it means to be a born again Christian. For a country built on Judeo-Christian values, this is an alarming indication of what the future may hold for America.
Picking up where they left off yesterday, Dave McAlvany and Kevin Orrick (www.mcalvanyweeklycommentary.com), Co-Hosts of the McAlvany Weekly Commentary, are back to conclude our two-day round table discussion. Today, they shift from an economic analysis to more of a spiritual discussion, covering Christianity's threat to communism, standing up in the face of adversity, and relying on God during crises.
