democratic socialism

It's election day and what better time to ask the question: why do Jews, as a voting bloc, tend to overwhelmingly vote for a party that doesn't support Israel or Jewish causes? We invited an expert to join us today to answer that – Rabbi Dov Fischer (yioc.org) of Young Israel of Orange County, California. In part one of a two-part conversation, Rabbi Fisher discusses the nature of who is and who is not a Jew. He looks at Reform Judaism versus Orthodox Judaism as well as the history of anti-Semitism.

Join us tomorrow as we air part two of this conversation. Once the interview was over, the recorder kept rolling and caught a great conversation that both John and the Rabbi agreed would be perfect to air.

Periodically, we invite Ukraine-based defense expert Reuben Johnson on to give us an update on geopolitics, specifically in Europe, but also around the world. Today, he and John examine a number of issues, including post-Merkel Germany, and Europe's impending energy crisis caused by the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline and Russia's increasing influence in the industry. They also look at China and its hostage taking policies along with their views of the U.S. under Biden. Reuben also discusses the latest Russian military exercises that seem to simulate a future attack against western Europe, NATO, and Ukraine.

After several weeks of intense reading and studying, John asked author, researcher, and Spanish language radio host César Vidal (cesarvidal.com) to be on the program. He joins us this week to discuss the new kind of socialism we're seeing in the West. It has technocracy, public-private partnerships, and a particularly insidious campaign to demonize nationalism and infiltrate the Christian church by undermining its roots. It's all part of their attempt to destroy America and the West.

We then move to Texas and its new state abortion ban. Abortions are down as a result and opponents are frustrated. But could that frustration boomerang back on conservatives? Next up this week is Jacob Sullum (reason.com), Senior Editor at Reason Magazine. He looks at the pros and cons of the Texas bill and the precedents it could set. This bill, which seems great for pro-lifers, could be detrimental to other conservative issues and groups in the future.

Finally this week, little is being said about Iran after the Afghanistan debacle, but a new report suggests that Iran could be weeks away from possessing nuclear weapons. Ken Timmerman (iran.org), President and CEO of the Foundation for Democracy in Iran, rounds out the show this week. Iran's nuclear program is advancing, but their government is in disarray. Unfortunately for us, the Biden administration and our military seem just as chaotic.

John has been waiting a long time to interview today's guest, spending many weeks poring over his books. Joining us is author, researcher, and Spanish language radio host César Vidal (cesarvidal.com). He and John discuss how Western democracy needs to keep its Biblical roots intact in order to survive. A new kind of socialism is upon us – one that's more technocratic with a public-private partnership thrown in. It's invading every aspect of our lives, especially the Christian church. That's where our roots lie. Mr. Vidal also examines the Reformation and counter-Reformation as it pertains to North America versus South America.

Misinformation, fake news, possible civil wars, conspiracies – they are all swirling out there. How can you make sense of it all? John and Producer Steve sit down today for a round table discussion. There is a civil war occurring in both political parties between the establishment types and those that want change. There are conspiracy theories surrounding not only the January 6 incident at the Capitol, but also with vaccines. And of course, climate change is creating controversy whenever it's mentioned. John and Steve look at all of this and more on today's podcast.
