double-standard

The Biden administration announced that they are suspending the Disinformation Governance Board. But is the desire to control information really gone from our government? First up this week, we welcome writer and scientist Dr. Matt Briggs (wmbriggs.com) to the program. He shows that even though the disinformation board is on hiatus, other similar offices still exist, like the Office of Environment Justice. Government, in establishing what disinformation is supposed to be, is also establishing what truth is supposed to be.

The need to create a disinformation board in the first place is still prevalent and, according to our next guest, is more about being afraid of dissent rather than disinformation. Back with us today is Brandon Smith (alt-market.us), Founder of the Alternative Market Project. The left has evolved from supporting all free speech no matter what to now demonizing free speech – especially if it goes against their narrative.

We finish up this week with a report out of Canada that the Trudeau administration may soon require journalists to obtain a license if they want to keep doing business. Joining us is freelance writer and software engineer Michael Tennant (thenewamerican.com). Journalists are not yet required to get a license in Canada, but subsidies and preferential treatment tend to go to those who have one. With freedom of speech under attack in the U.S., how long before we see a similar requirement for our press?

This Memorial Day, we take time to honor, reflect, and remember those who've made the ultimate sacrifice for our country so we can keep those freedoms we often talk about.

The disinformation board has been paused, but the need to create it in the first place is more about being afraid of dissent, not disinformation. Back with us today is Brandon Smith (alt-market.us), Founder of the Alternative Market Project. He shows us how the natural evolution of the left seems to have gone from supporting all free speech no matter what to now demonizing free speech – especially if it goes against their narrative. He looks at what the endgame is for those on the left and on the right.

John Loeffler: Exposing the Web of Lies

Broadcast Running Time: 26:49

Most of what politicos, and by extension the media, say is lightly peppered with truth but is largely false. John flies solo today, showing a few examples of when lies backfire, but usually not before causing harm. What can we learn from this? We have to point out the lies and the hypocrisy and show people what's really going on. If we don't, a lot of people (including children) will continue to believe the lies and the harmful narratives. Reality wins in the end, so it's best to be properly prepared.

Wokus pokus folks are always appealing to morality, but how do people with no morality get away with that? Joining us today from his home in Jerusalem is Rabbi Chananya Weissman (chananyaweissman.com), Founder of End the Madness. He and John discuss the nature of morality and how woke values have nothing to do with actual morality. In fact, woke folks have their own religion apart from the West, which is why they're so opposed to Judeo-Christian values. Rabbi Weissman also gives an update on the state of cancel culture and wokeism in Israel.

We have media manipulating narratives, government officials implementing policies based not on science but on political motives, and we have truth being ignored across the board. John flies solo today and ties all of these things together, looking at how we arrived at this moment in time. Academia is pushing the oppressor versus oppressed narrative and it shows in virtually every story media puts out. John covers several reports that showcase how the truth gets twisted and narrative is king.

Rules for thee but not for me. That's the mantra underlying America's new woke belief system. Joining us today is freelance writer and author Larry Eubank (larryeubank.com) to discuss his new article Wokeism: The New American Orthodoxy. He looks at how the laws and rules when applied to radical leftists are ignored, because for them, the woke orthodoxy trumps everything – including the rule of law. But conservatives are expected to live up to those same laws. For every double standard on the surface, there's an undeclared single standard underneath. And that's the orthodoxy.

There is so much flipping and flopping on issues today, it's enough to make a person dizzy. In this week's boralogue, John looks at postmodernist history and why they don't seem to mind changing course on an issue. To them, reality is based on feelings and perceptions, which means words and laws and rules don't have concrete meaning. There are no moral standards, but sooner or later reality becomes real and people will need to think clearly. Today's youth haven't been taught how to do that, so many are lashing out, causing chaos around the country and inconsistently asserting their opinion on important issues.
