Today, we welcome a guest from northern England, programmer and software author Andy Thomas (kuiper.zone), to discuss his new article titled 'Was Nietzsche Premature in Declaring the Death of God.' It's a sophisticated philosophical discussion today about science, God, the nature of free will, and the essence of reality. So why bring this up? He writes in his article that modern science demolishes any reason that we've had for thinking any one of three things: that God wasn't needed anymore, that God didn't exist, or that God couldn't exist. We're going deep on today's podcast!
People around the world need to hear and read the Word of God, but rarely do we talk about that need in South America. Joining us today is David Witt (spritofmartyrdom.com), Chief Executive Officer of Spirit of Martyrdom International. He describes the need for God's Word in Venezuela and Colombia and what his organization is doing to provide Bibles and leadership in churches there. God is using the oppressive economic and cultural environment caused by the socialist government in Venezuela to begin a revival of the Christian Church and a renewal of the hearts of citizens, including those in hard-to-reach tribal areas.
Yesterday we brought you part 1 of our 2-part interview with Peter Hammond (frontlinemissionsa.org), Founder and Director of Frontline Fellowship in South Africa. He gave a sober evaluation, based on direct observation, of the life of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. On today's podcast, he continues with some personal interactions he had over the years with the Archbishop. He goes on to look at worldview wars, the importance of campaigning for the truth, and his optimism about the future.
You are going to confront two things during your life: reality and God. Those confrontations are assured, whether we like it or not, so with that in mind, it's important to know what life is all about. John flies solo today, taking a look at those two confrontations amid the avalanche of lies and blizzard of ignorance we see in the West today. Caught up in the blizzard and the avalanche are many young people who are being taught to embrace a narrative or a truth claim, regardless of whether it's actually true or not. John illustrates how Marxist thought is completely antithetical to Christmas: one has to be true while the other has to be false. John reads from the Gospel of John showing how Christmas definitely wins that battle.
Following up on John's boralogue from yesterday regarding the abortion debate, we welcome gifted pro-life speaker and host of the UnAborted! podcast Seth Gruber (sethgruber.com) to the show today. He and John tackle the silence from the Christian church in regards to abortion and compare it to silence from the church in the past. Seth looks at the benefits of speaking up and fighting to protect the unborn and the successes that he's had. Eventually everyone will have to make a stand and make a choice. Silence may be that choice, but even silence will speak loudly about where you stand on the issue.
On this day before Thanksgiving, John flies solo and takes a look at the truth underlying the concept of thanksgiving. All of us experience times of trouble and sometimes it may seem like an impossible mission to come out from under that trouble. But God is with us and chances are He has blessed your life in many ways. John gives examples of both trouble and blessing from his own life. So please don't let vaccine disagreements or political differences come between you and family and friends this Thanksgiving. We can be thankful to God no matter what trouble we're experiencing because nothing is impossible with God.
Happy Thanksgiving, folks. May it be a safe and blessed holiday for you. We will be off tomorrow, but back in the Steel on Steel saddle on Friday.
Leftism and Marxist ideologies are seeping into the Christian church in the U.S. How do we recognize it before it does irreparable damage? Joining us from his church in Indiana is Lucas Miles (lucasmiles.org), Pastor of Nfluence Church. He looks at the incompatibility of Christianity and the woke ideology found in sermons and even doctrine in some churches today. A lot of groups espousing this wokeness doctrine disguise it with Christian-sounding words. If pastors are telling you that they don't worship the Jesus from the Bible but instead a more modern, woke Jesus, then hard conversations are needed and quickly.
John is back with Lee Lancaster at the KYMS studios here in the Inland Northwest – and he brought someone with him. A special guest has finally arrived in the U.S. – that’s right, Pastor X is here and we finally learn his real name! He relates first-hand accounts of the troubles Christians go through in Pakistan and the incredible, inspiring journey that he and his family experienced that culminated in their arrival in the United States last week. John goes on to list several examples of Christian persecution from around the world and asks for prayer for all of them. You can join our Praying for Persecuted Christians Facebook group for more information and stories from around the world.
