Some media outlets are beginning to comment on the dysfunction and failures of the Biden administration. How will they extract themselves from the narratives they're anchored to, all the while not irking the far left progressives? Joining us today is Bruce Thornton (fresnostate.edu), Professor Emeritus of Classics and Humanities at Cal State Fresno. He examines why the media seems to be slowly turning on the Biden administration – and it has nothing to do with principles. They are slaves to ideology and a lot of it stems from the indoctrination in our education system, something Professor Thornton has had a front row seat to for years.
John and Producer Steve take over the microphones today, discussing a number of issues. John pushes back on an email he received that claimed he often toots his own horn, while Steve channels his inner old guy in discussing the media's focus on unimportant stories while potentially paradigm changing news is glossed over. They also look at motive versus method when discussing ideology with younger folks and the need to look ahead a few steps with slippery slope issues like the Texas abortion bill and civil asset forfeiture. It's a fun podcast today – John actually gargles water after admitting that a progressive was right about something!
We are facing a critical moment in America's history – will we continue to further the ideological divide or can we truly keep this the United States? Joining us today is Dr. Richard Land (ses.edu), President of Southern Evangelical Seminary. He looks at the growing discontent among fly-over folks at being unheard and censored. And media does nothing but throw gasoline on the fire of division with their biased reporting and alternative definitions of not only the truth but even individual words. The education system is to blame as well, teaching children from a young age that this is a horrible and racist country. Is there anything we can do to turn this highly divisive tide?
