We've heard a lot about critical race theory and how it's infiltrating our schools. But what does it look like and is it in even the smallest of schools? Joining us today is Anna Miller (idahofreedom.org), Education Policy Director at the Idaho Freedom Foundation. She looks at a school in Steel on Steel's backyard, the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho school system, where officials have introduced an equity toolkit to promote social justice and see racism as inherent in students and teachers. She explains exactly what it looks like when it's implemented and it's worse than you think. CRT is the latest in a long line of totalitarian theories that have pushed into schools to indoctrinate children. Parents, though, are starting to wake up to what's going on and are pushing back.
When you go against the norms of the far left, there is a chance that you will fall victim to cancel culture. First up this week is Dr. Jeff Myers (www.summit.org), President of Summit Ministries, who reveals his organization's methods to counteract Marxist thought in the classroom. If they're willing to talk, it's possible to find a solution. But in other instances when your grade or your job is on the line, a different strategy may be needed, such as taking an accuser to court. Sometimes though, people get to the point that no matter the circumstance, they just have to say, “I will not sit down. I will not shut up.”
Certainly not one to shut up, John looks at the history of revolutions, the events that led up to them and the reason why they succeed or fail. Logic and reason play a big part. If logic and reason move forward decoupled from God, revolutions always fail. America's revolution coupled logic and reason with morality and we are still here. Basing a government on morals allows more controls on government and more freedoms to the people. That's why cancel culture will ultimately never work.
The terms 'racist' and 'white supremacist' are thrown around constantly in today's public discourse, but does anyone know the true meaning of the words? Rounding out the program this week is Jeff Schoep (www.beyondbarriersusa.org), Founder of Beyond Barriers, who describes his journey from leader of the country's largest neo-Nazi organization for 25 years to an outspoken opponent of hate and shepherd to those wishing to leave extremist groups.
