There has been an erosion of positions in the West on issues that should be firmly held, including that of Israel and anti-Semitism. Back with us today is CAMERA's Christian Media Analyst Dexter Van Zile (camera.org). He describes his battles against anti-Semitism and concludes that it is becoming more and more dangerous for Diaspora Jews. There is widespread hypocrisy regarding the issue of tolerance and Jews in large measure find themselves on the losing side of that hypocrisy. In the overarching battle, the message seems to be about depriving Jews of their rights – both in Israel and here in America.
Critical race theory has taken hold in education, but now that it has been roundly rejected by a majority of the people, teachers unions and educrats are running away from it. First up on the show this week is Lindsey Curnutte (heritageaction.com), Press Secretary for Heritage Action for America. She looks at how the NEA seems to be washing their hands of CRT, erasing it completely from their website. She also promotes Heritage's new e-book on how to combat critical race theory, which you can find at crtbook.com.
Because of CRT and the many other Marxist theories that have been taught to children for decades, many of today's youth don't want to debate and don't seem capable of understanding history as it actually was. Anne-Christine Hoff (jarvis.edu), Professor of English at Jarvis Christian College in Texas, joins us. She discusses how ideological youth make claims they can't back up or defend and then call you a racist if you disagree with them. That is classic Marxism. She also looks at how many Christian universities haven't stepped up to address these issues.
This toxic ideology has spilled out of universities onto the street as our next guest can attest. Back with us is longtime friend of the show Dexter Van Zile (camera.org), Christian Media Analyst for CAMERA. He describes the horrible treatment he endured during a Students for Palestine rally at a university campus in Boston. There's a degradation of civility in the U.S. and a significant part of that is aimed at Jews and supporters of Israel. That campaign is in part a result of untrue narratives being perpetuated throughout the education system.
We wrap up today's show with Tara Ross (saveourstates.com), Advisor at the group Save Our States. She examines the checks and balances that keep absolute power from any one branch of government, focusing on the For the People Act, which has been shot down for now but will not go away. She also looks at 2020 election-related procedures that did not go through proper channels and egregious overreach by governors during the pandemic.
The word psyops is most often used in describing crazy conspiracy theories, but there's actually psychological warfare being conducted on U.S. soil right now – and it's not a theory. Joining us today is Dexter Van Zile (camera.org), Christian Media Analyst for CAMERA, and he describes what happened to him during a Students for Palestine rally at the University of Massachusetts campus in Boston. A few days later, a rabbi in Boston was stabbed 8 times. There's a degradation of civility in the U.S. and a significant part of that is aimed at Jews and supporters of Israel. This psychological, and at times physically violent, warfare is a result of untrue narratives being perpetuated throughout the media and in the education system.
Cancel culture is everywhere, even on college campuses, especially among the Jewish student community. Joining us today is Alyza Lewin (brandeiscenter.com), President of the Louis D. Brandeis Center, who starts things off by relating an amazing personal story of how her family escaped Nazi persecution in the 1940s when Poland became dangerous for Jews. She and John then move the conversation to anti-semitism today, specifically on U.S. campuses. She describes the persistent campaign against Max Price, a Jewish student at Tufts University, that highlights not only his troubles there but reveals a deep hatred for Israel among certain staff and students. There are efforts now to push back against this.
