the Great Reset

All good things must come to an end. After nearly 32 years on the air, this week marks the final radio broadcast of the Steel on Steel program. John kicks off the show by pulling together all we've learned in three decades about how the world works, how we got to where we are today, and where we can expect to head in the future. He leaves a lasting legacy to you, our loyal listeners.

To help John make sense of the changes in America over the last 30 years, he welcomes one of the show's earliest friends, Rabbi Burt Yellin of Messianic Congregation Roeh Israel in Denver, Colorado (roehisrael.org). Past mistakes are coming home to roost and those in power now haven't learned from them because they're proposing the same failed solutions today.

John finishes out the show with one more review, documenting the fellow travelers on the globalist train over the last century and how it affects us today. He then says goodbye to you, the listener.

On behalf of John; his incredible wife Carol who has been the glue that holds us all together; Brad, who solves every problem that comes across his path and keeps us relevant online; Producer Steve, who has had the privilege of occasionally joining John on the microphone for the last quarter of the show's tenure; and from everyone else involved in the show – thanks to all of you for your prayers, your kindness, and your loyalty over the years!

Today's program continues the thread of how we got here in a divided country and where we're going.  Carol Loeffler returns to the program to pick up the economic thread from last week and John parallels that over the last century with a trace of all the 'fellow travelers' including theosophists, secular humanists, cultural Marxists such as the Frankfurt School, globalists and one-worlders, who have sought to "transform" our cultural from rugged individualist, free market capitalist economy to a globally oriented socialist state-run technocracy.

All federal officials, except the President, swear to 'support the Constitution,' while the President swears to 'preserve, protect, and defend' it. So why do a large majority of those who ascend to these offices promptly ignore, and in some cases defy, the Constitution? First up this week, we welcome constitutional attorney Mark W. Smith (thefourboxesdiner.com) to the show. After the Supreme Court ruled that New York state can't ban conceal carry permits, state officials are labeling nearly every location a 'sensitive place' in regards to guns. So you can have a permit, you just can't carry anywhere. This is constitutional end running at its worst.

When politicians defy the Constitution, it's traditionally been up to the media to call them out. Our next guest, Dexter Van Zile (meforum.org), Managing Editor at the Middle East Forum, shows how the media are selectively reporting based on ideology. They ignore obvious facts staring them in the face, and twist a story to meet the worldview they've built in their heads. And if you dare challenge them, they will go to great lengths (read: censorship) to silence you.

One such ideological narrative pushed by the media and certain government officials has been the supremacy of covid vaccines. Wrapping up the program this week is Dr. Jane Orient (aapsonline.org), Executive Director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons. She examines the push to vaccinate teens and even toddlers, despite a statistically unlikely chance they will ever contract covid, let alone suffer from it. She also looks at the almost never discussed adverse reactions to the vaccines.

Even as politicos continue to push vaccines, which have proven themselves anything but safe, we now have enough distance behind us to examine a chronology of the entire Covid pandemic, who knew what and when they knew it; who said what and was it correct? our expert on the global elites, Dr. Dennis Cuddy, Ph.D., author of 'The Globalists' and 'The Secret Nazi Plan,' returns to the program to provide a timeline of the pandemic and how much of what we told was fact, fiction or simply a lie.

After yesterday's show with John and Producer Steve, we continue our conversation on cancel culture, welcoming Kathleen Marquardt (americanpolicy.org), Vice President and Director at the American Policy Center. She examines the craziness surrounding the left's policies today, including cancel culture, and the society that has sprung up as a result. This should, however, come as no surprise, because they have been telling us for years that they were going to do this. Just read their playbook.

John opens the show this week with a brief comment on how our Constitution is working exactly as it was meant to work. And in doing so, it is stymieing the plans of the Left, which is why you see the constant attacks on the Constitution.

We then transition to our first topic: abortion. Abortion is in the spotlight due to the recent Dobbs decision, but how is the Church dealing with it? We welcome Dr. David J. Ayers (faithandfreedom.com), Fellow for Marriage and Family at the Institute for Faith and Freedom. He looks at how the church has taught about abortion historically and how they deal with women who suffer from the aftereffects of it. He relays his own experiences in how the Church has handled the issue of abortion.

When we discuss the topic of totalitarianism, both in the past and happening now, it's important to take a step back and study what exactly totalitarianism is. Helping us do that this week is literature and history teacher Walker Larson (thehazelnut.substack.com). He describes the different stages of totalitarianism, based on what we've seen in history, and shows some pretty shocking similarities to society today. If you want to understand how raging at the Constitution can lead to tyranny, this is the interview to listen to.

Finally, we look at a blatant power grab on the globalist stage. The World Health Organization has been horrible when it comes to accurate medical information, but they are maneuvering for more power. Rounding out the show this week is Alex Newman (thenewamerican.com), CEO of Liberty Sentinel Media and Senior Editor at The New American magazine. He describes how the United Nations is attempting to give the WHO powers to declare pandemic emergencies in any country regardless of whether that country gives consent or not.

Walker Larson: Primer on Totalitarianism

Broadcast Running Time: 32:42

We often talk about totalitarianism, that which occurred in the past as well as what's happening now. On today's podcast, we're going to take a break from the news and get into the details of what totalitarianism exactly is. Joining us to chat about that is literature and history teacher Walker Larson (thehazelnut.substack.com). He describes the different stages of totalitarianism, based on what we've seen in history, and shows some pretty shocking similarities to society today. These stages, by the way, mark a vivid resemblance to the different stages of religious persecution.

The World Health Organization doesn't have the best track record when it comes to accurate information, especially in regards to covid. But despite that, they're clamoring for more power. Back with us today is Alex Newman (thenewamerican.com), CEO of Liberty Sentinel Media and Senior Editor at The New American magazine. He describes how the United Nations is attempting to give the WHO powers to declare pandemic emergencies in any country regardless of whether that country gives consent or not. It's a huge power grab attempt. They've failed in this attempt once already, but they're back and trying it again.

If we're going to talk about climate change and the myriad of issues surrounding it, we must first understand it from a 30,000-foot view. John opens the program this week framing the issue, pointing out the players involved and the arguments they make.

We then welcome to the show UK-based Rupert Darwall (realclearfoundation.org), policy analyst and Senior Fellow at the RealClear Foundation. He examines how the climate change ideology has invaded the business world, largely through ESG scores. He calls it the socialization of capitalism. Many people are rolling with the narrative right now, but soon conditions will begin to deteriorate and it's only when reality becomes harsh that people wake up and start pushing back.

But can you even push back right now? Debate and dissent have been shut down by the powers that be controlling the climate narrative. John welcomes to the program Gregory Wrightstone (co2coalition.org), geologist and Executive Director of the CO2 Coalition. He shows how scientific studies, charts, and models are often manipulated to both further the narrative and stifle debate. If you try to debate, and you use facts and data to back up your assertions, the party of science will shut you down.

Finally this week, we take a look at the real world costs to the climate agenda – fuel costs rising, expensive electric cars, etc. – and ask: is this being done on purpose? Wrapping up our guest list this week is Levi Russell (levirussell.com), Assistant Teaching Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Kansas. He discusses the practicality of trying to achieve what the climate alarmists say they want. It all looks pretty impossible. Could it be that the real plan is to make energy so costly that we won't use it?

What would really happen in a national emergency when the always trusted federal government purports to install protection measures but really just expands its powers? Joining us today to answer that is John Whitehead (rutherford.org), Founder and President of the Rutherford Institute. He discusses the things going on both behind the scenes and out in the open that sets the stage for a tightening of control and a suspension of rights should there be an emergency. He offers his solutions as to what can be done about it.
